Win A Vancouver Vacation

It just keeps getting better and better, folks.

Someone is going home from this year’s Outstanding Business Achievement (OBA) awards gala with a trip for two at the River Rock Casino Resort in Vancouver!

Thanks to our friends at the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (owners of Flamboro Downs) and Westjet Airlines, the winner will receive a 4-day stay in a suite at the luxury resort complete with two return airline tickets. Every person who is registered to attend the OBA gala will be eligible to win the vacation package. The retail value of the package is about $2,500.

Committed to ‘honouring and celebrating the very best in corporate excellence and community service,’ the annual OBA gala is hosted by the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC). This year’s gala will take place at the renovated Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club in Copetown on Saturday, March 2. In addition to significant media coverage, the gala will be taped for later broadcast by Cogeco community television (serving East Flamborough, Burlington and Oakville).

The FCC is honoured to welcome the new Premier of Ontario – the Honourable Kathleen Wynne – to this year’s OBA gala. Premier Wynne will be present for a portion of the pre-dinner meet-and-greet reception and will present brief remarks before dinner. Considering the challenges facing the province’s ‘slots and trots’ programs, the visit and anticipated comments by Premier Wynne (who is also Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture) are especially timely.

Also attending will be MP David Sweet, MPP (and Minister of Community and Social Services) Ted McMeekin, Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina and Flamborough Councillors Robert Pasuta (Ward 14) and Judi Partridge (Ward 15).

Among the highlights of the OBA gala will be the presentation of the FCC’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Tim Langford (of the former Langford Pharmacy) and posthumously to Jim Aitkin (Rankin Environmental) and Wilf and Tom Langford. No less than nine other companies and individuals will also be honoured.

Ticket sales are going well but there are a limited number of seats available. To reserve your spot for what has become ‘the social event of the year’ in Flamborough, contact the FCC office at 905-689-7650 or admin@flamboroughchamber.ca.

Who knows – you could go home as the winner of the fantasic Vancouver vacation package!!
