QUEEN’S BENCH

On the day that Queen Elizabeth II became the longest serving monarch in modern British history, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswel – the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario – came to unveil a new granite bench in Waterdown’s Memorial Park that commemorates the occasion. The brainchild of Waterdown District High School teacher Nathan Tidridge, donors of the bench included Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC) Past President Gerry Aggus and his wife Lena as well as Doris and Wilf Arndt. Wilf retired recently as the executive director of the Waterdown BIA and is the unofficial FCC volunteer photographer. For pictures taken at the unveiling, please click HERE.
