It’s been a long and cold winter. But with spring slowly waking up, it is time to think GOLF!!

Flamborough’s premier annual golf tournament – the Flamborough Open co-hosted by the Rotary Club of Waterdown (RCW) and the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC) – will be held May 27 at the prestigious Carlisle Golf and Country Club.

The proceeds of the tournament will be split between the two co-hosts. The RCW portion will be distributed between a wide range of worthy local, national and international causes. After all, it is the ‘business’ of Rotary – in keeping with its motto of ‘service above self – to raise funds … and then give it away.

For the FCC, the proceeds of the tournament form an important part of the annual budget. As a matter of fact, it is the only time in the year that it asks for financial support. The FCC may be a small organization but it is determined to ‘make a difference’ in support of Flamborough’s businesses. But to continue its role, especially as it relates to monitoring – and responding to – developments at Hamilton city hall, it needs the generous support of the golfing community.
