IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE FCC

LANDSCAPER REGISTRATION

Further to the effort to grant existing rural landscapers an ‘exemption’ to remain in business under the proposed Rural Zoning Bylaw, it is imperative these businesses register with the city BEFORE May 15, 2015.

Their process is very simple. There is not a formal registration form. All that the landscapers have to do is to email Diana Yakhni at Diana.Yakhni@hamilton.ca or call her at 905-546-2424, Extension 7582 and provide the following information:

Name
Business Name
Business Address
Date Business Was Established
Contact Information (phone, email, address)
Business Card (if applicable)

There are rumblings that some landscapers will not take advantage of this program. It is the humble opinion of the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC) that not doing so would be a big mistake … and will result in contravening the by-law (leading to potential legal proceedings).

DANTE’S PUDDLE JUMPERS

Rain or shine, Dante’s Puddle Jumpers will be hosting their annual car wash at Waterdown Collision. The event will be held this Saturday, May 9 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and is hosted by Dante DiFelice, 12, and his family (Max and Patty and big brother Domenic). The proceeds will go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.  Dante – the youngest ever recipient of an Outstanding Business Achievement (OBA) award (Community Service by an Individual) by the Flamborough Chmaber of Commerce (FCC) – has cystic fibrosis.

This is a fun event and features many ‘extras.’ All of the information (including how you can contribute) can be found at www.dantespuddlejumpers.com.

OBA HIGHLIGHT REEL

In addition to the video profiles of the recipients at this year’s OBA gala, a 6-minute ‘highlight reel’ of the evening is now on the FCC website homepage. You can watch it at www.flamboroughchamber.ca.

2015 FLAMBOROUGH OPEN

The clock is ticking on the 2015 Flamborough Open. This years tournament – co-sponsored again by the FCC and the Rotary Club of Waterdown – will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at the Carlisle Golf and Country Club. All of the information can be foundHERE.

The proceeds are extremely important if the FCC is to remain financially sustainable. You can register or sponsor online by going the to the FCC website atwww.flamborough.chamber.ca.
