CONFEDERATION CUP

An overflow crowd (complete with parking on the grass) attended last Sunday’s Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs. With the McGuinty provincial government proposing to kill the revenue sharing formula between Ontario’s horse racing industry and the province’s ‘slots and trots’ program (which critics claim will result in the loss of 60,000 jobs across the province), some are wondering if this year’s Confederation Cup – after 36 years – will be the last one. Was it an omen that for the first time in 36 years it rained on ‘Cup Sunday?’ Stay tuned!
