Hamilton Council decided by a 14-0 vote late yesterday to declare that Hamilton is a willing host for a new casino. It then declared that the site should be at Flamboro Downs unless the successful proponent can prove that the site “is not viable.”

This is great news for Flamborough and its ‘slots and trots’ communities. The Council decision also mirrors the FCC position that stated that it does not object to Hamilton being a willing host for a new facility and that its ‘strong preference’ is for it to be located at Flamboro Downs.
