Special FCC News Alert
In monitoring the agendas for meetings of Hamilton Council and its committees, Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC) Executive Director Arend Kersten has confirmed that the matter of creating a ‘lobbyist registry’ in Hamilton is on the agenda for tomorrow’s (Thursday, September 4, 2014) meeting of Council’s General Issues Committee (GIC).
The FCC (along with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the Halton-Hamilton Home Builders Association) has significant concerns about the creation of a lobbyist registry in Hamilton (as detailed in the column which follows as published in Hamilton Business – a division of the Hamilton Spectator – and the Bottom Line) and the potential impact on economic development..
Arend has sent an email to every member of Council urging that the proposal be rejected or – at the very least – postponed until after the October 27 municipal election. He will also attend the GIC meeting..
Stay tuned!!
