It is with a mixture of shock and sadness that the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC) acknowledges the passing of Cal Gardiner last Saturday. Cal is the husband of FCC Past President Penny Gardiner (Economic Development Association of Canada and the Hamilton Technology Centre) and the father of Courtenay Gardiner-Caldwell, the former FCC office administrator. Just 61 years old, Cal was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer a few weeks ago. However, doctors were optimistic that with aggressive treatment, Cal would be remain with us for some time. That’s why his sudden passing has left so many in shock.

Penny and Courtenay along with Courtenay’s husband Chad will receive family and friends at Kitching Steepe Ludwig Funeral Home in Waterdown on Friday evening between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. To honour Cal’s memory and his courage, the family welcomes donations to pancreatic cancer research.
