The FCC was informed earlier this week that Charlie Cetinski – formerly of Flamboro Springs – died unexpectedly in his sleep while in Florida. Charlie – who was paralyzed when he crashed his home-made plane in Flamboro Centre a number of years ago – was perhaps best known for his wheelchair marathons to raise funds for spinal cord injury research. Flamboro Springs was a charter member of the FCC and Charlie was always an enthusiastic supporter. Charlie – who lost his wife Gertrude in November 2010 after a long and difficult battle with cancer – is the beloved father of FCC Past President Susan Cetinski. At this writing, details surrounding the funeral have not been finalized.
Charlie’s passing is a shock to the community and his optimism and enthusiasm will be missed. The FCC extends its deepest sympathies to Susan and other members of Charlie’s extended circle of family and friends.
