OCC DAY AT QUEEN’S PARK
Miller Thomson lawyer Kyle Hampson – the President of the Board of Directors – represented the FCC at the Queens Park ‘Advocacy Day’ hosted by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (CCC) earlier this week. Just like the FCC and Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) monitor and – where necessary – address local and federal issues respectively, the OCC does the same at the provincial level. Over 80 chambers of commerce and boards of trade were represented.
Attendees met with a number of Cabinet ministers as well as senior bureaucrats. Premier Kathleen Wynne, Opposition Leader Patrick Brown and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath took time out from their very busy schedules to also meet with the attendees.
“Advocacy Day at Queen’s Park highlights the power of the Chamber Network,” said OCC President and CEO Allan O’Dette. “We are eager to see how the Chamber Network can work with the provincial government on the economic challenges that were highlighted today during the OCC’s Advocacy Day.”
