OBA Sold Out … And Time Change
For the first time ever, the annual Outstanding Business Achievement (OBA) Awards gala is SOLD OUT!! Over 240 people have registered for this year’s gala which ‘celebrates and honours the very best in corporate excellence and community service.’
But there has been a slight change in the timetable!!
The ‘guest of honour’ at this year’s OBA gala is Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne. Because she has to attend another event in Hamilton on Saturday evening, the timetable has been changed slightly.
The doors will be open at 4:30 p.m. with Premier Wynne joining us at 5 p.m. or shortly thereafter for the meet-and-greet pre-dinner reception. Ideally, we would like to have as many of the OBA attendees at Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club by the time Premier Wynne arrives. At 5:45 p.m., attendees will move from the lounge into the banquet hall. After eveyone is seated, local MPP Ted McMeekin – the Minister of Community and Social Services in the Wynne provincial Cabinet – will more formally introduce Premier Wynne. The premier will speak for about 10 minutes and then stay for the first OBA presentation. After the presentation and the requisite pictures back in the lounge, the premier will leave to go to her next event. Everyone else will remain to enjoy a delicious 3 course roast New York striploin dinner (complete with wine service) followed by the remainder of the award presentations.
We are honoured to also have MP David Sweet, Mayor Bob Bratina and Flamborough Councillors Robert Pasuta and Judi Partridge join us at the OBA gala.
And someone is going home Saturday evening with a trip for two to Vancouver (courtesy of Westjet Airlines) complete with a 4-night stay in a suite at the fabulous River Rock Casino Resort in Vancouver (courtesy of the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation).
We urge all registrants to make every effort to be at the Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club in Copetown before 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 2. It promises to be a very special evening.
