OBA GALA IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

Flamborough-Glanbrook MP David Sweet got up in the House of Commons last week to congratulate this year’s recipients of the Outstanding Business Achievement (OBA) awards. Specifically, MP Sweet named 101-year-old Pat McNally (Town of Flamborough Award) and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Jim Wilkinson (Wilkinson Heavy Precast).

Organized and hosted by the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC), the annual OBA gala ‘recognizes, honours and celebrates the very best in corporate excellence and community service.’ Over the years, the OBA gala has evolved into ‘THE social event of the year’ in Flamborough. This year, the OBA will be held at the African Lion Safari on the evening of Friday, April 1 (no fooling). Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6:15. In addition to MP Sweet, other VIPs attending include MPP Ted McMeekin, Hamilton mayor Fred Eisenberger and Ward 15 Councillor Judi Partridge. (Ward 14 Councillor Robert Pasuta has sent his regrets as he has a role in the annual Rockton Dinner Theatre.)

Classic Catering has asked that the FCC provide some idea of the number of attendees by this coming Thursday (with Friday being Good Friday). We hope many FCC members and their guests will join us. Reservations can be made by clicking HERE or by contacting the FCC office at eitheradmin@flamboroughchamber.ca or 905-689-7650.
