Farewell David
It’s a cliche that’s been used too often this week … but it’s true. “Niagara’s gain is truly Hamilton’s loss.”
This week, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce (HCC) announced that President & CEO David Adames has accepted a senior appointment by the Niagara Parks Commission. His last day at the HCC is March 8. The full announcement can be found by clicking HERE.
David’s association with the FCC goes way back. He was Hamilton’s Director of Tourism when the FCC leased space in the former Visitor Information Centre at Clappison’s Corners. David also understood the importance of the tourism industry to Flamborough’s economy (African Lion Safari, Flamboro Downs, OLG SLots at Flamboro Downs, Christie’s Conservation Area, etc.).
During his 20-month stay at the HCC, David (and his team) moved the HCC office into the Hamilton downtown core, hosted the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Annual General Meeting and Convention, established a new communications protocol and rebranded the HCC to better reflect the changing face of Hamilton.
David was also committed to working with his counterparts in Flamborough and Stoney Creek. The FCC extends its best wishes to David (who will be attending next week’s OBA gala) as he assumes his new responsibilities.
