Flamborough Chamber of Commerce Office Administrator Lorie Crisp has
been admitted to Hamilton General Hospital after suffering a brain
Lorie left the FCC office last Thursday afternoon suffering from a
severe headache. Thinking it was a migraine, she asked to be taken to a
medical clinic. There, doctors determined that Lorie needed more care
and she was transported via ambulance to Jo Brant Hospital. Once there,
it was decided to send Lorie to Hamilton General Hospital where she
underwent emergency neurological surgery. A stint in the ICU followed.
She is currently in a step-down unit at the General. Doctors predict
Lorie will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks with ‘absolutely no work’
FCC Executive Director Arend Kersten and his wife Dianne visited Lorie
at the General earlier this week. While tired, Lorie was in good
spirits. It is clear that Lorie ‘dodged a bullet’ after suffering a
major medical emergency.
Lorie’s absence presents some unique challenges to the FCC but
bookkeeper Janet Barnard and computer whiz Neil Livingstone have stepped
up to assist Arend in running the day-to-day affairs. We are very
grateful for their assistance. And we thank all FCC members for their
understanding, patience and support.
We will keep you informed about Lorie’s condition. In the meantime,
please keep Lorie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
