TRUCK ROUTE MEETING

Hamilton is undertaking a review of its Transportation Master Plan. This review will examine many aspects of transportation throughout the entire city – including non-vehicular traffic (bicycles, etc), oversize vehicles and truck routes.

In a pro-active move, the FCC is hosting a ‘Business Roundtable’ on Wednesday, March 2 at noon. More details will be released when they are confirmed. Staff and consultants hired by the city to undertake the review will be at the meeting to outline the process, answer questions and listen to concerns.

Many (especially) rural businesses will recall the havoc caused by changes to the truck routes during the last review several years ago. It is especially important that representatives from the agricultural (oversize vehicles), aggregate and landscaping sectors attend. This is one of those ‘speak now … or forever hold your peace’ meetings.

There is no charge to attend the meeting … and a light lunch will be served. But to better prepare, we ask that you notify the FCC office (preferably by return email) whether you will be attending.
